There is a common issue with car rental companies abroad nowadays. If you purchase insurance through the platform, they won't force you to buy additional insurance, but they charge a very high deposit. This is not just with this company; I have noticed the same issue with several others. This company, however, has an additional issue: they charge a €36 cleaning fee if the car interior is a bit dirty upon return. This is the first time I've encountered this, and it doesn't feel great. Everything else is fine, though.

Hertz just hands you the keys without anyone checking the car condition with you, but they do email you detailed information about any scratches on the vehicle. Returning the car is easy too; you just drop the keys in the designated box at the drop-off location.

They didn't have the Focus I wanted. At first, they gave me an MG4, which I declined. Then they offered a Jeep Avenger. I thought it was a sedan where I could hide luggage, but all the cars turned out to be hatchbacks. Thankfully, the trunk had a black cover so luggage inside wasn't visible from outside.

I booked a Peugeot 3008 but got an MG ZS instead. The car felt a bit small; fitting two 28-inch and one 24-inch suitcases was a bit tight, especially since my non-standard luggage is wider than usual (standard ones might fit lying down). Finding the car was straightforward, and returning it was also easy if you prepared well. We were over 20 minutes late returning the car, but there was no extra charge. There were no pushy sales tactics, the return inspection took only three minutes, and the process went smoothly. It's been over ten days since we returned home, and the deposit hasn't been charged, so overall, it was a pretty good experience.

Very easy to locate. First of all, the airport is not large, and just outside the door in the nearby building is the car rental hall with several brands clearly marked. The staff were very welcoming. Having been to Europe several times, I must say the young lady who assisted us this time was genuinely very nice. After completing the paperwork, the parking lot is directly in the building's upper level. The person assisting in the parking lot was also a young lady, which is not common in my many car rental experiences in Europe—it’s usually older men or women. The local Italian young people provide good service. We weren’t too keen on the car they initially offered, but they allowed us to choose another car of the same class on the spot. The car’s condition was excellent.

Pickup and return were very convenient. I purchased full insurance, so there were no worries when returning the car—just left the keys and walked away. However, the hybrid CX60 was extremely hard to drive without electricity. Also, the left front tire was underinflated when picking up the car, and I couldn't locate the puncture on-site. The store staff fully inflated it, and I drove off. Two days later, the pressure dropped to 1 bar, and I quickly found a roadside repair shop. Turns out, there was a nail in the tire from the start. I had to pay 30 euros for the tire repair myself.

The store is located outside the airport, and there is a shuttle service at Gate 6, which is very convenient. The staff didn't try to upsell insurance when I picked up the car, but I requested to purchase full coverage insurance. The staff member patiently explained it to me. Since I had full coverage, returning the car was smooth as well—just handed over the keys and I was done. The €500 deposit was refunded the same day.

This company offers competitive pricing, and both pickup and drop-off were very convenient without any issues. It's about a 5-minute walk from Milan railway station. I chose the cheapest package and added full insurance at the store, which cost around 40 euros per day. However, there's a small catch—they require an extra 100-euro deposit, and for repairs exceeding 100 euros, there's a 61-euro handling fee. I accidentally scraped the car, resulting in two damages: 650 euros for the bumper and 125 euros for the wheel rim. Basically, if there's any damage, you'll definitely have to pay the 61-euro fee. The staff inspecting the car was very detailed, almost meticulous, but it's fine as long as there are no unnecessary charges.

This is a small car rental company, and one person handles everything from reception to car pickup and return inspection. The service attitude was okay, and there was no hard-selling of additional products. I booked a Volkswagen Polo but received a Toyota Yaris with over 50,000 kilometers on it. That wasn't a big deal, but the car's exterior had about ten noticeable scratches and dents, which made the initial inspection quite tedious. When returning the car, the staff discovered a new dent on the front passenger door. I checked, and indeed there was one, but I didn't hit anything during the entire trip. How this dent occurred is a mystery to me. Even after reviewing the video from the pickup, it didn't appear to have been recorded. I had no choice but to accept it and anticipate being charged over 400 euros. My advice is, if budget allows, go for a large car rental company. On my previous trip in France, I rented from Europcar, returned the car simply by leaving the keys in the drop box, and it was done. The key advantage was that their cars were newer (only around 3,000 kilometers), saving time and hassle!

We picked up the car near Gate 17 in the departure hall. It was a yellow car and very easy to spot. I made a phone call, but it was in Italian, which I couldn't understand. Fortunately, the yellow car arrived quickly, and we only waited for 10 minutes. During pickup, they tried to sell us insurance, but I declined, and there was no issue. The car was very clean and worked perfectly. We had booked a Ford, but were given a Citroën instead.

The upselling was a bit excessive. They recommended this BMW electric car to us for 30 euros per day. We rented it for 3 days and didn't need to recharge it. The car rental staff assured us that we didn’t need to return it fully charged and that parking outside was free. It had a range of over 360 kilometers at pickup, and we returned it with over 200 kilometers of range remaining.

During the peak summer season, AVIS showed no available cars for rent, but we managed to find one here, which wasn’t easy. Before leaving Milan Airport, we contacted the rental company, and they said they would send a car to pick us up and take us to the rental point, saving us the hassle of dragging our big bags there ourselves. At the pickup point, we discovered that AUTOONE and SURPRICE were operating together. When we later received the confirmation email, it was under AUTOONE’s header, so I guess they are sister companies. There were two staff members handling the procedures on-site. We waited about ten minutes before it was our turn to process the rental. After adding full insurance and paying for cross-border driving at the counter, we received a car slightly larger than the one we had reserved—a white SEAT Arona. The whole pickup process took about ten minutes. (Unfortunately, the later survey options didn’t allow us to select the actual car we got.) For the return, since we had full insurance, as long as the tank was full, they quickly verified the vehicle and completed the return process.

We were given a car with a flat tire. Tire pressure light immediately came out 15 km after we left. We filled up the tire each morning for 3 days until it got really bad. Brought it to the Verona airport to exchange cars and they insisted the tire wasn’t flat. I told them I just filled it up 10 minutes ago so we could get there. They then charged us for another whole rental which cost more for 3 days than the original charge of a car for 7 days. I paid for two car rentals. I tried to have them think logically saying why would I drive out of the way while on vacation to exchange a car for the same thing or lesser if there wasn’t a problem. Sure enough as they argued you could see the tire got flat. They never even apologized. It was an extremely unpleasant experience

Unfortunately Covid has affected rental business, there are less choice of cars, winter tires where not yet installed, or allocated to companies with fleet. The check in was managed by one person alone that was doing his best, but the process took long. Keddy / Europcar is till a top rental and their cars are very often in perfect conditions, as was mine. MIlan Linate has moved the parking of the rentals in a different tower and you need to get two elevetors and pass through a bridge. Not easy, and a long way to walk.

I rented a GPS, and it was absolutely terrible. It never let us drive on the highway, even though I had set it to prefer highways over shorter routes. While driving properly on the highway, it would make us exit prematurely, always at toll stations, and no settings could fix this. It seemed like the default was set to a money-saving mode. This GPS made us take many detours, wasting a lot of time. On the first day, we arrived in another city at midnight because of it, and the hotel almost closed. It didn't recognize some roads and couldn't differentiate between one-way and two-way streets. The GPS was awful! Plus, it cost around 10 euros per day, which was completely not worth it and wasted our precious time and energy.

I was really frustrated that on my booking it showed the car company was In the airport terminal and it was NOT. I waited AN HOUR for the company to send the shuttle service, I had to call several times each time I was told they were on their way. It was only 10 minutes away yet I waited an hour! Upon picking up the car I was advised I needed to pay 1000 euros deposit vis a credit card, which I do not have, so instead I was compelled to pay 130 euros for fully comp insurance that I did not want, meaning my great deal was in fact, terrible. The staff were rude and the car was downgraded from the reserved 'Golf or similar'

It was very terrible service. 1. No rhodium - it is goldcar now. 2. Car was not ready - dirty, and with tire problems. 3. Same tech guy add air into tire, but in the road I should to find the tire shop to fix that problem my self - they did not have other car with automatic transition in normal condition for me. What if could be happen car accident, because off tires problem?

We never got our rental car since Rhodium sold it over to Goldcar company and Goldcar said they dont have car for us and we should call Rhodium and when we called Rhodium they never picked up the call. With long flight and a small baby with us it was horrible time at the airport.

The car was as requested, a few little scratches but overall very good. The counter staff on pick up and drop off were excellent. The sales counter staff however weren’t are letting you down. Poorly signed Rhodium branding within Goldcar signage isn’t easy to spot. The sales counter staff were then too pushy over insurances that I already had. Oh and thanks for offering me insurance initially at €230 then reducing this to €180 when I turned it down the first time, that really is just unprofessional and takes me for a fool. Once I had turned down the insurance I was treat like an inconvenience and moved on quickly without a lot of instruction on what to do next. Very poor

After walking some distance from the terminal with 3 young children to collect my car I arrived at the service desk. there were two people om the desk for four rental companies. It was unclear where to queue so as only one customer was being served i showed the other person my agreement to be told know you must queue behind this person as this is the line for firefly. The person in front was having trouble with their credit card authorisation. when i finally got to the front a gentleman came and stood behind me. I was then rudely asked to step to one side as the customer had already been served and the desk clerk wanted to know what the issue was. He then informed her that the car that the damaged she had marked on the car was incorrect and in fact there was far more damage and he wanted this noted and signed for not that i can blame him but i thought to myself surely he could of sorted this after myself had been served as i had three young children with me. Finally got served and was offered a choice of 3 cars Nissan Duke, Volkswagen Golf, Fiat 500 crossover. None of these were the full size car that was advertised as a ford fusion. I had two large suit cases with me and asked well what has the most boot space. The desk clerk couldn't tell me so asked another colleague who advise the golf would be the best option. They also tried to upsell me the full package insurance but i showed them i had purchased full access insurance in the UK. i was given directions to take the lift up and my car would be located in the hertz lot just outside the lift. This was not the case and i had to trudge through different lots trying to find this. To say it reminded me of a scene from trains, planes, and automobiles is an under statement. I also noticed far more scratches, bumps, and dings on the car than were indicated but was told just to take pictures if there was an issue. On returning the car i was advised there was a €159.00 Euro fee to pay something of which i was not advised.

The company is okay, but I advise everyone to take a photo of the odometer when picking up the car. Also, my rental had a built-in GPS, but the staff said it didn't and made us rent one. It didn't work well, so we ended up using the car's built-in one.
